Get a screwdriver and remove the screws holding the lock on your door.
Storm door lock hits my house lock.
The storm door deadbolt and latch side rail are likely misaligned which can prevent the deadbolt from retracting.
I have a schlage camelet on my front door but was toying around with the idea of adding additional keyless entry to the storm door infront it as press j to jump to the feed.
Storm door handles are usually installed above the hardware on the interior door centered at roughly 42 from the bottom of the storm door.
To unjam the deadbolt remove the latch side rail installation screws.
If it won t lock open the door.
Leave the lock in the door but only remove the cover and other parts to get in to clean it.
Pry up on it until it comes loose and remove it.
Once taken apart use gum out or a similar type of cleaner to clean the inside of the lock and all moving parts.
Tighten the top hinge to make the latch hit higher on the strike plate or the bottom hinge to make it hit lower.
Shut the door and try to lock it.

Tap the end of a chisel under the door stop on the striker side of the jamb.
Tighten the screws on the hinge plate that holds the door onto the frame.
Step 4 add cardboard shims between the hinges and the frame on either the top or the bottom depending on whether you need to raise or lower the door.
This will loosen the tension on the deadbolt allowing it to retract and the door to open.
To line up the lock and the strike plate so that the lock goes into the hole easily try filing around the edge of the actual lock and the strike plate.
